The Nicola Valley Health Care Endowment Foundation gratefully accepted a donation of $80,000 from Teck Highland Valley Copper Operations (HVC) for the Emergency Room Expansion and Renovation Project at the Nicola Valley Hospital and Health Centre.

The generous contribution is a significant step towards the Foundation’s fundraising goal of $550,000 for this project. The cheque was presented to Foundation directors by HVC’s Peter Martell, Superintendent, Environment and Community Affairs; Marlena Anderson, Community Relations Supervisor; and Melissa Pinyon, Community Affairs Coordinator.

“Teck Highland Valley Copper Operations is committed to helping build healthy, vibrant communities. Through our engagement with the Nicola Valley Health Care Endowment Foundation, we became aware of the increasing demands on emergency services and the leading-edge technology that is being implemented as part of the expansion. We are proud to support the creation of a trauma centre that will provide patients with world-class emergency care,” says Geoff Brick, General Manager, Teck Highland Valley Copper Operations.

The Foundation would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for this donation, and for other members of the business community who have stepped up and contributed, and continue to do so.
